DE- SEWING PERU’S BRAND

The project seeks to create visual objects that speak about the construction of the cultural representation of the migrant which is denied in the Peru’s country brand ideology.

Taking as a provocation the Cusco School artistic tradition, we depict the uniform of archangel arquebusier. The garment proposes a parallelism between two visions of the “other”: the indigenous narrative, which started during the colony, and the migrant representations replicated today through the visual imaginary constructed by Peru’s country brand.
